Larry began his career as a youth breaking wild horses with his father. Without the luxury of a horse trailer, he would ride several miles as a kid to participate in horse shows. Horses became his destiny, and the lessons in horse behavior and handling that started in his youth became the basis for a successful career in all aspects of the industry - training, showing, breeding and foaling, sales, conditioning, injury rehabilitation, barn management and equine consultation.

He is an expert horse breeder who has had great success in not only matching horses to produce champions, but also in the field of AI and stallion and mare management. Larry has managed Arabian, Quarter Horse, Paint and Thoroughbred stallions and has shipped semen for artificial insemination throughout the US and Canada with a nearly perfect conception rate.

Larry is an all-around trainer who has worked with most breeds and disciplines. Using the principles taught by Ray Hunt combined with his own experience, a Conquest-trained horse is identifiable by its fast attention to the word "whoa" and willingness to perform. Though best known for numerous Regional championships in the Arabian industry, Larry has also won an Appaloosa national championship, hauled amateurs on the Quarter Horse circuit, shown APHA and worked with many other breeds.

With a keen eye for stallion promotion and selling horses, Larry foresaw the impact of the Internet on the horse industry. The internet's influence on long-distance horse breeding coupled with the approval of AI for most breeds shaped his vision today for Larry Conquest Performance Horses to provide superior service to this growing segment of the industry.

In his "spare" time, Larry also turns to horses, competing in team penning events and coaching riders new to this up and coming sport.
